Puzzle Festival 2011 Results can be found here.

If you love puzzles, then you won't want to miss the very first Arlington Puzzle Festival, on Saturday, Nov. 5.

A celebration of words and logic, numbers and thinking, this is a great chance to meet other puzzle fans and fanatics in a friendly, fun environment. The Arlington Puzzle Festival is sponsored by the Friends of the Arlington Public Library, and will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Central Library Auditorium.

The day will include speakers in the morning, followed by puzzle competitions in the afternoon (schedule pdf):

The competitions will be a timed test of three puzzles of each type, with winners being the competitors with the best times and accuracy accumulated over all three puzzles. In addition, there will be more puzzles of all types (including an OCTO Challenge) throughout the day, for puzzle lovers of all levels.

Prizes include trophies and puzzle books from Fireball Crosswords (providers of the Washington Post's Sunday "Post Puzzler") signed by Fireball Crosswords editor Peter Gordon, puzzle books signed by OCTO puzzle inventor (and Puzzle Fest organizer) Doug Gardner, and annual subscriptions to Puzzle Nation, a new online game site for puzzle lovers.

REGISTRATION
Anyone interested in participating can pre-register online  Registration will also be available the day of the Puzzle Festival from 8:00-8:30 a.m., but the Auditorium does have a space limit, so pre-registration is suggested.

This is a FREE program, thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Arlington Public Library, whose proceeds help support library programming, outreach activities and the advancement of the Library?s collections.

Festival participants who are not members are encouraged to join the Friends, either online or at the event.
