Call for Posters - Business & Finance Division Poster Session at SLA 2014 - Expanded Scope

We are expanding the scope of the B&F Poster Session at SLA 2014 Conference, and the details are below. We will consider all practices related to business librarians going ?beyond borders,? even if it is not in the international sense. Submit your poster ideas!

Theme:                 Business Librarianship: Thinking and Going Beyond Borders

Location:              2014 SLA Annual Conference?Vancouver, BC

Date:                     Tuesday, June 10, 2014

Time:                     Presenters at posters from 10 am ? 11:30 am
Posters on display in the Exhibit Hall from 9 am ? 2 pm

In this call for posters, the Business & Finance Division of SLA is providing an opportunity for business librarians to share ideas and develop research collaborations.

Globalization has changed the way businesses and economies operate, and business librarianship has evolved simultaneously to remain relevant and meet the needs of clients. Business librarians have risen to this challenge and transcended traditional boundaries, both figuratively and literally.

We are looking for case studies or practical applications on how business librarians and/or libraries are thinking or expanding globally. We are also interested in practical studies or examples of business librarians and/or libraries transcending traditional librarianship boundaries, figuratively going beyond borders. Examples include but are not limited to:

·         Partnering with multinational businesses and/or organizations for business literacy education
·         Building and/or expanding business information resources with an international focus
·         International work experiences for business librarians
·         Innovative approaches to reaching international constituents or clients working or studying abroad
·         Dealing with international intellectual property laws related to business information resources
·         Initiatives in international business literacy education
·         Innovative discovery of difficult-to-find international business information
·         Stepping out of the traditional librarianship model by becoming a paperless library, embedding in an innovative environment, or developing a non-traditional role or service in a typical library setting
·         Promoting diversity in business librarianship by recruitment, inclusion, or demystifying stereotypes in the profession
