The Journal of Education for Library and Information Science (JELIS) is pleased to announce our transition to an online journal system to manage our submission and review process, and is seeking new submissions to be considered for upcoming issues. JELIS uses a double-blind peer review system and is published quarterly. We accept a variety of works, and welcome the following types of submissions: -Major articles (roughly 2,500-5,000 words) that are research-based and fall within the scope of this publication, broadly construed. -Review articles (roughly 2,500-5,000 words) that synthesize or theorize about literature pertaining to Library and Information Science education. -Research in progress reports (roughly 1,000-2,500 words) that discuss design and progress of research projects. -Brief communications (less than 1,000 words) that can include relevant scholarly papers, evaluations of teaching methods, reports of studies that highlight results and implications, and reports (with supporting data) pertaining to other issues such as student retention and distance education that are of interest to our readership. -Guest editorials and reviews (less than 1,000 words) that deal with timely issues in LIS education, reviews of relevant publications, and reviews of pedagogical and curricular materials. All manuscripts should be submitted using our online interface (http://jelis.org/ojs/). At the top of the page, click ?Register.? You will be asked to fill in some biographical and contact information, and you have the option of choosing whether to register as an author, a reviewer, or both. Once you have registered as an author, you will be able to log in and send us your work by clicking ?Submit.? There you will follow the steps to upload and submit your writing to us. We are excited about our transition to an online manuscript submission and review process, and look forward to seeing your work!
