CFP: Take Risks, Embrace Change! - The Conference for Entrepreneurial Librarians (Greensboro, NC - October 17, 2014)

Call for Proposals

Building on the success of previous conferences, the fourth  Conference for Entrepreneurial Librarians http://entrelib.org/ will explore how librarians exhibit entrepreneurship by taking risks and implementing change. The conference goal is twofold: to inspire entrepreneurial action among librarians and to create a community among those who do.

This year the conference is collaborating with the Journal of Library Innovation http://www.libraryinnovation.org/ which will publish selected conference papers in a theme issue.

The conference will be held at the Z. Smith Reynolds Library on the campus of Wake Forest University on October 17, 2014.   It is sponsored by the libraries at Wake Forest University http://www.wfu.edu/ and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. http://www.uncg.edu/

The conference provides a mix of conference-wide sessions, contributed papers and posters.  We seek presentations and posters from librarians and information professionals about projects related to the conference theme. Topics may include but are not limited to:

   -   Innovative approaches that incorporate entrepreneurship
   -   New program or solution that made a difference in your library or community
   -   Initiatives that created a culture of change and risk taking
   -   External forces that influenced the need or impetus for change
   -   New programs with limited or dwindling funding
   -   Measurement of outcomes that led to beneficial change
   -   Assessment of needs and accomplishments

Presentation Formats:

Proposals are sought for two formats:
   -   One-hour break-out sessions with 45 minutes for presenting and 15 minutes for Q&A.  These may be panels or single presenters.  Proposals should include an abstract of no more than 250 words. Proposals should indicate if the author intends to submit an article based on the presentation to the Journal of Library Innovation (http://www.libraryinnovation.org/), which is devoting a theme issue to the conferences.  Because article submissions will be peer reviewed, presentation at the conference does not guarantee publication in the journal.

Poster sessions. Proposals should include an abstract of no more than 50 words.
