Help Invent the Future of the Library--First Session, Oct. 27 at Walter Reed

UPDATED 10/26: Read the results of our recent Library User Satisfaction Survey on sites, staff and technology. Your opinions will be discussed at the upcoming "invent the future of the Library" sessions described below. Thanks to all who took that initial survey and if you haven't already, please complete our on-going survey on services and programming.

This month and next, Arlington Public Library will host a series of public gatherings to create?with its customers?a shared vision of the future for the Library.

The goal of these gatherings is to help answer questions like: Where are we going as a library? Where do we need to go? And what will it take to get there?

Please join us for Session No. 1: Plotting the Next Chapter in Arlington Public Library?s Story
Thursday, Oct. 27, 7 p.m.
Walter Reed Community Center, DHS Room, 2909 16th Street South
This fun charrette will look at the history of Arlington Public Library along four "plotlines"?content, programs, technology and spaces?offering fresh perspective on our collective experiences. Then we'll explore where the future of information, technology and libraries is headed, examining the trends that are already shaping the years ahead. Let?s join together to dream about where those plotlines can take us and help write the next chapters of the Arlington Public Library story.

In the meantime, please take a new survey on library services and programming. We thank all those who took our previous survey on sites, staff and technology. We will be sharing those results at our upcoming public discussions.

Upcoming gatherings to help invent the future of Arlington Public Library:

Session No. 2: Thursday, Nov. 3, 7 p.m. - Fairlington Community Center, first floor

Session No. 3: Thursday, Nov. 10, 7 p.m. - Washington-Lee High School, Little Theater
