Library Wins Second Major Award for Arlington Reads

The Library has received a second significant award for Arlington Reads.

The Virginia Public Library Directors Association has named Arlington Public Library a winner of its annual Association Award in the category of Outstanding Public Program for a system serving at least 100,000 people.

The Library was honored for Arlington Reads 2010, which celebrated locally grown food and sustainability, and included two major author events and the installation of a community vegetable garden at Central Library.

This month the Library picked up its award from the Alliance for Innovation, celebrating Outstanding Achievement in Local Government Innovation for Arlington Reads 2010. (See above photo of County Manager Barbara Donnellan, left, with Library Director Diane Kresh.)
