Photo Exhibit for Cherrydale's 50th Anniversary

Snow on Cherrydale Branch Library, 1961-1962
This year the Cherrydale Branch Library is celebrating it's 50th year in the building on Military Rd - the groundbreaking ceremony for the library, designed by architect J. Russell Bailey, occurred on September 4, 1960.

In honor of the anniversary, Cherrydale is exhibiting photos of the building and it's history, from the collections housed at the Library of Virginia in Richmond, and our own Virginia Room. The photos will be on display through the end of the year.

You can see a preview of the exhibit on our flickr page, or read the Library News post about the July 9, 2011 celebration - complete with video and more photos.
