Adult Storytime is held on the second Monday of each month at the Shirlington Branch Library, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Take a walk off the beaten path, and listen to something you might not have read before - we will be reading everything from classic to contemporary literature, from Balzac to Poe, and Jhumpa Lahiri to William Trevor.

Take a break from your busy day and join us for a new storytime, designed just for adults. You'll hear a story read aloud by library staff, and you can even bring your lunch.
Adult Storytime is held on the second Monday of each month at the Shirlington Branch Library, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Take a walk off the beaten path, and listen to something you might not have read before - we will be reading everything from classic to contemporary literature, from Balzac to Poe, and Jhumpa Lahiri to William Trevor.
- Monday, January 10 - The first story will be Honoré de Balzac's The Unknown Masterpiece, a tale of art, love and jealousy.
- Monday, February 7 (note: first Monday instead of second Monday) - In honor of Valentine's Day, we will read a satire by Edgar Allan Poe on the nature of love - a story of romance with a twist at the end.
