Westover's Mid-Week Movies, February and March

"There's music in the air" during Westover Branch Library's Mid-Week movies in February and March. If you're looking for drama, high-comedy, singing or dancing you are in for a treat when you join our Wednesday night movies.

The Producers- Wednesday February 15, 6:30pm. When two down-on-their luck producers try to bilk investors with a sure-to-offend musical, they end up making a surprise sensation. Full of fun and comedy. PG-13

The Pianist- Wednesday February 22, 6:30pm. The dramatic true story of a Polish Pianist who must use his musical passion to survive the horrors of the Warsaw ghetto. R

August Rush- Wednesday February 29, 6:30pm. Unique inherited musical talent is what a young August Rush uses to try to find his parents, from whom he was separated at birth. PG

Shall We Dance- Wednesday March 7, 6:30pm. When an overworked Japanese salary-man is smitten by a beautiful dance instructor he takes beginning dance classes in order to get closer to her. PG

Singin' in the Rain- Wednesday March 14, 6:30pm. The Gene Kelly/Debbie Reynolds classic that will have you singing along! NR

The Soloist- Wednesday March 21, 6:30pm. Just as LA Times columnist Steve Lopez is in dire need of a story he happens upon a street musician with extraordinary talent. Lopez is drawn to write the story of this skid-row schizophrenic man, and in the process both cope with deep anxieties and frustrations. Based on a true story. PG13

Dreamgirls- Wednesday March 28, 6:30pm. When three young women are chosen as back up singers to James "Thunder" Early, music careers are made and broken. PG13
