What's New with the New Research Portal?

In one word: More. We've merged the resources available in the original Research a Topic page with our popular subject guides to create the Research Portal - a fantastic new way to do online research.

How do you find the previous content?
Find our premium sites in the dropdown menu on the left side of the page, or click on All 81 Premium Sites to use the A-Z listing with descriptions.
We've also added links to popular premium sites, such as Mango Languages and HeritageQuest Genealogy.

What are "Premium Sites"?
Library Research Sites have evolved a great deal, and we needed a new way to describe them. We still offer traditional article databases, but we also offer free access to dozens of subscription websites, including ConsumerReports.org? and Value Line. We subscribe, so you don't have to - premium sites are always free with your library card.

What's new?
All of our Topic Guides (formerly Subject Guides) have been updated and refreshed, including Homework Help Guides for Kids and Teens. We've added new guides for popular topics like Literary Criticism and Travel Planning, and more topics are in development.
The new Research Portal is also fully searchable.

How did you decide what to include?
All Topic Guides are authored by our expert librarians, and include our picks for the best resources on the web, in the library or in the community. Topic Guides do just that?guide your research in a particular subject. It's like getting help from a Librarian, 24/7

We have also taken this opportunity to streamline and update our eCollection portal.
You can view by format (eBooks, eAudiobooks, etc.), then check compatibility by device (PC, Mac, iPod etc.) in order to quickly find out what is available and what will work for you.
