And the (Real) Caldecott Winner Is...

On Monday, A Ball for Daisy by Chris Raschka won the coveted 2012 Caldecott Medal!

Caldecott honors were awarded to Blackout by John Rocco; Grandpa Green by Lane Smith; and Me... Jane by Patrick McDonnell.

How did Arlington's elementary school mock-Caldecott committees stack up against the official committee?

They may not have agreed on the Caldecott Medal winner, but we think their choices were excellent, And many of their choices match the official honor selections!

For a complete look at the 2012 Youth Media Award winners (also announced on Monday), check out our Kids Spotlight.
