On Wednesday, July 14, at 7 :00 p.m., baseball fans can take advantage of the All-Star break and get some book-learning at Central Auditorium, when we hear from authors of Baseball Americana: Treasures from the Library of Congress.
The Library of Congress' collection of baseball cards, posters, film stills and other icons of the game includes some of the greatest treasures related to our national pastime. "Baseball Americana's" authors include Frank Ceresi, a Northern Virginia native who runs FC Associates, a museum consulting company specializing in anything baseball; Phil Michel, who manages the Library of Congress's Prints and Photographs Division; and Susan Reyburn, an editor in the Library's Publishing Office.
This event will take place in Central Library's Auditorium. Baseball-related prizes will be awarded during the program, and books will be available for sale and signing.
