Book Whisperers, the Westover Branch Library book discussion group, will hold their evening gathering on Tuesday June 22 at 7pm, and their afternoon meeting on Wednesday June23.
Please join us at either time for a discussion of The Bookseller of Kabul by Asne Seierstad, a Western journalists account of living with a Muslim family in Kabul a year after the fall of the Taliban.
Next month will be your opportunity to share your favorite detectives with fellow Book Whisperers. There is no specific book to read for the month of July, but rather we thought we'd have some fun hearing all about the many sleuths and private eyes that our fellow readers enjoy. We all know about the currently popular Stieg Larsson's Swedish series featuring Mikael Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander, and perhaps we've heard of Colin Dexter's Inspector Morse...but, have you traveled with Vermont's Joe Gunther, or Scotland's Inspector Rebus? What about Jacqueline Winspear's Maisie Dobbs or Laurie R. King's Mary Russell?
Mystery books abound at Westover library and we'd love to hear from you about your adventures with the sleuths and private eyes from between the pages of a book.
