The Library marked National Energy Awareness Month by hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 24 at Central Library, where the new solar panel installation is the County's latest effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The Department of Energy's Dr. Henry Kelly, head of the Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy and lifelong Arlington resident joined County Board Vice Chair Mary Hynes, Board Member Jay Fisette, Department of Environmental Services Director Bill O'Connor, Library Director Diane Kresh, County Manager Barbara Donnellan, County staff and residents to laud the completion of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act-funded solar panel project.

The panels were installed with the help of the County's Fresh AIRE team.
