Fall Fun Suggestions from Glencarlyn's Village Views
Do you read the Glencarlyn Citizen's Association Village Views newsletter? The November issue includes some great ideas for enjoying nature as the temperature falls: |

- Cultivate an indoor garden like Linnea in Linnea's Windowsill Garden by Christina Bjork. Try her "Seed Olympics" and race bean vines up your window.
- Assemble a miniature world in a terrarium. A large glass container or fish tank with plastic wrap over the top will do. Add a bit of soil, some moss, and some tiny plants like baby ferns or violets from your backyard. If you find baby cedars or hollies in the Library Garden, you can take one home for your terrarium.
- Get out! Feel the Autumn winds and Winter snow on your face. See the changes the seasons bring to your backyard, the Library Garden, and your neighborhood. Have a picnic with hot chocolate, blankets and binoculars.
You can read more in Village Views - this selection was excerpted and adapted by Master Gardener Judy Funderburk, from an article by Cindy Gimbel of Green Springs.
