Happy 90th Birthday Yoshiko Uchida!

Sunday, November 11 is the birthday of Japanese-American writer Yoshiko Uchida.

Uchida grew up in California during World War II. Her family was forced to live in a Japanese internment camp for three years during the war. Her experience there inspired much of her writing and she has been credited with giving a voice to a whole generation of young Japanese-Americans who had lived through World War I, The Great Depression, and World War II.

This Sunday celebrate with us by checking out one of her more than 30 titles.
