Amazon has announced that they are working with OverDrive to allow Library eBooks to be read on the Kindle!
Sorry, no - the Library does not YET have eBooks compatible with the Kindle.
Presently, our downloadable ebooks collection employs Digital Rights Management (DRM), which prevents copying and forces the content to expire off of your device at the end of the lending period. This kind of safeguard is very important to book publishers. But unfortunately, ebooks with DRM encryption from libraries and other eBook retailers are not compatible with the Kindle. Book publishers and eBook vendors may eventually reach a solution that would allow library patrons to download Kindle compatible ebooks. In the meantime, we do have free eBooks from our OverDrive vendor that can be downloaded and viewed on your PC or Mac, laptop, PDA, Blackberry, iPod, iPad, iPhone or other smartphones.
