*Update: eBooks from Penguin Restored for Kindle

** Updated Thursday, Nov. 24 - OverDrive reported today on their blog:
"?Get for Kindle? for all Penguin eBooks in your [OverDrive] catalog has been restored as of this morning.
Penguin titles are available for check out by Kindle users and the Kindle format will be available for patrons who are currently on a waiting list for a Penguin title. Upcoming releases remain unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience this caused for your library and patrons.
At this time, no further information is available. We hope to share more details in the near future."

Original post, Tuesday Nov. 22 -
We're sorry to report that OverDrive (one of our eBook suppliers) has temporarily removed public library access to Kindle eBooks from the publisher Penguin Group USA.

This does not affect the remaining 3,297 eBooks available for download to the Kindle.

If you have a hold on the Kindle version of a Penguin eBook, you will no longer see it in the eHolds section of your eAccount. We hope that OverDrive will be able to get these titles restored as soon as possible, and we'll keep you posted as we learn more.

This action affects all public libraries supplied by OverDrive.

For more details, read this morning's blog post from OverDrive as well as related articles in the Christian Science Monitor and School Library Journal.
