Garden Talk: Gardening for Life

Garden pre-hurricane2Join us Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Central Library Vegetable Garden for a Garden Talk on Gardening for Life: Fitness without Injury.

Carol Downs, Northern Virginia Master Gardener, will discuss tips, tools and techniques for "bodywise gardening," to prevent injury and to assist gardeners with arthritis or other physical issues. She will also demonstrate a few exercises that gardeners can do to warm up before gardening and to help them gain strength, flexibility and balance so they can garden with fewer aches and pains.

With handy, lightweight, ergonomic tools, this will be a real "hands-on" workshop!
