Saturday, October 8, is the 68th birthday of best-selling children's author R.L. Stine.
Stine started writing at the age of 9 when he found a typewriter in the attic of his parent's home. As a child he penned stories and joke books for his own amusement. Who knew that as an adult he would become juvenile fiction's Stephen King! His eerie tales known as the Goosebumps series have sold over 400 million copies worldwide (and counting!).
