Happy 97th Birthday Robert McCloskey!


September 15 marks the 97th birthday of author and illustrator Robert McCloskey.

McCloskey's stunning illustrations paired with sweetly memorable stories have made his books a staple in homes, libraries, and classrooms all over the country. One of his best known stories Make Way for Ducklings which is set in Boston, MA was not only awarded a Caldecott Medal, it has been made the official children's book of Massachusetts where you can climb around the bronze sculpture of Mrs. Mallard and her ducklings in the Public Garden and participate in the annual Make Way for Ducklings Parade!
