"A Conversation with Isabel Hofmann" -- Reminisce Society -- November 2012

Take a trip back into Ottumwa?s history this month with the Reminisce Society as Molly Naumann presents ?A Conversation with Isabel Hofmann.? The program begins at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, in the library?s meeting room.
Reprising her role from last year?s Main Street Ottumwa downtown historic walking tour, Naumann will appear as Isabel herself, and share her fascinating life story. From teaching German at Ottumwa High School to her experiences traveling around the globe at 80 years of age, Isabel Hofmann filled her life with culture, adventure, and out-of-the-ordinary exploits that enriched the entire community. Naumann will recount stories from Isabel?s entire life, including her marriage to Frank Hofmann, who began Hofmann Drug, and her deep, lifelong passion for reading and books. A widow at age 80, Isabel decided to visit all of the places around the world that she had read about in her books, and even had her photo taken on an elephant in front of the Taj Mahal.
Please join us for a look into the life of a fascinating local legend, Isabel Hofmann, on November 27th. For further information, call the Reference Desk at 682-7563, ext. 205.
